The European premiere of a new and expanded edition of the “Chevaliers” (Knights) exhibition, developed in collaboration with the Museo Stibbert of Florence, was launched at the Château des Ducs de Bretagne in Nantes, France. The exhibition explored the emblematic figure of the knight, his chivalric code, his relationship to war, his place in society and social demonstrations of his status, such as in tournaments and jousts. This French edition also provided the chance to explore French and Breton aspects of chivalry, the role of women, and the myth of the knight as interpreted in 20th century art, literature and film.
