The exhibition FOOTBALL. The Passion for the World Cup aimed to celebrate the most beloved sport as a universal, social and cultural phenomenon, through an extraordinary and evocative journey in time and space.
Organized by Contemporanea Progetti and Expona in collaboration with the National Museum of Liechtenstein, the Museo del Calcio Internazionale in Rome and the FIFA Museum in Zurich, this special exhibition retraced the most important steps in the evolution of football: from its origins and official birth with codified rules, to the development of the sport at an international level, finally arriving in the modern era with the most famous championship ever, the FIFA World Cup.
