Past ExhibitionsNatura Morta, Still-Life Painting and the Medici Collection

This exhibition of 44 still-life paintings, offered a unique opportunity to discover the important developments of the history of the Natura Morta genre as it unfolded in Florence, Italy.

The US tour of this exhibition project was developed by Contemporanea Progetti of Florence, in association with the Trust for Museum Exhibitions of Washington D.C. The Medici dynasty, which dominated the political and cultural life of the city for centuries, is still acclaimed today for its enlightened artistic patronage. Among the vast Medici collections bequeathed to the city is an extensive collection of still-life paintings which were reunited in this very special exhibition.
