Curated by Antonio Natali, Director of the Galleria degli Uffizi, the North American tour of this traveling exhibition was organized by Contemporanea Progetti in collaboration with the prestigious Trust for Museum Exhibitions of Washington D.C. The exhibition retraced the development of landscape painting as it evolved from the beginning of the 16th century, where it was used mostly as a background for other subjects, to the 18th century where nature emerged as the true protagonist of the Italian landscape painting golden era.
